December Storytime - Christmas Stories and Crafts


Our Preschool Storytimes are scheduled for Fridays at 11:00 a.m.  Preschool storytime is geared towards children ages 18 months to 4 years of age, although younger and older siblings and friends are always welcome to participate.  It is a great way to introduce young children to an age-appropriate "school" environment, and all the skills that help young children function in such an environment, such as sharing with others.  It is also a great way to encourage pre-literacy skills such as "print motivation" (thinking that books and reading are fun) and "print awareness" (recognizing print and understanding how books work). 

Here is December's line-up:


December 2
Read:  "Santa Flap Book" by Sam Taplin

Help:  Pete the Cat find Santa at the North Pole


December 9
Read  "Baby's Very First Noisy Book: Christmas"
Make:  a Christmas sled


December 16
Read:   "Christmas Time is Here" by Ellen Weiss
Decorate: a gingerbread man and share some Christmas treats!


December 23rda and 30th - No Storytime.

October 14

Make:  a black cat


October 21

Make:  a scary skeleton


October 28
Read:   "Mother Bruce" by Ryan T. Higgins

Wear:  your Halloween Costume and join us for a "Spooktacular" Halloween Party!!!!
