January Preschool Storytime - "New Year - - New Books!"

We are refreshing our weekly storytime by reading some all-time great picture books that never seem to grow old.  Our goal is to share some new ideas with parents and encourage the love of reading in their children.

Our Preschool Storytimes are scheduled for Fridays at 11:00 a.m.  Preschool storytime is geared towards children ages 18 months to 4 years of age, although younger and older siblings and friends are always welcome to participate.  It is a great way to introduce young children to an age-appropriate "school" environment, such as sharing materials with others.  It is also a great way to encourage pre-literacy skills such as "print motivation" (thinking that books and reading are fun) and "print awareness" (recognizing print and understanding how books work).  Preschool storytimes are "drop-in", no registration needed events, so just come on by.  Here is January's line-up:

January 17

Meet:  a special shelter dog

January 31
Read:  Fly by Mark Teague
Choose:  your own words for a wordless picture book
