August Storytime - August is Rainbow Fish Month!

Our Preschool Storytimes are scheduled for Fridays at 11:00 a.m.  Preschool storytime is geared towards children ages 18 months to 4 years of age, although younger and older siblings and friends are always welcome to participate.  It is a great way to introduce young children to an age-appropriate "school" environment, and all the skills that help young children function in such an environment, such as sharing with others.  It is also a great way to encourage pre-literacy skills such as "print motivation" (thinking that books and reading are fun) and "print awareness" (recognizing print and understanding how books work).

Make:  a rainbow fish


August 12
Read  "Rainbow Fish Finds His Way" by Marcus Pfister
Make:  some blue pebbles


August 19
Read:   "Rainbow Fish and the Big Blue Whale" by Marcus Pfister
Make:  a big blue whale


August 26
Read:   "Good Night, Little Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister

Make:  a seaweed bed for little rainbow fish
